Cold Palms in January

Sabal minor Cape Hatteras Blue in snow- hardy to at least 0f. I have 8 clumps of these  now. Never lost a frond even down to 0f and below.

  1. That is one hardy palm. It always seems strange to me seeing palms covered by snow ... coming from a tropical place as I do! But I can see that some don't seem to worry about it! Love those wild palm birds!

  2. yes they have flowered and produced seed stalks each year for 4 or 5 years now (the bigger palms) and I even have seedlings popping up in the beds. The eucalyptus do extremely well here too, esp E. neglecta, perriniana, and snow gums.
